About Chester County Criminal History

Criminal records from Chester County do not sit in one office or database. The sheriff, local court clerk, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Tennessee Department of Correction, and Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry each maintain a different part of the record trail. This private reference organizes official contacts, request routes, and search tools so readers can choose the custodian that fits their question.

Why We Built This Site

Public access is useful only when a request reaches the right custodian. The Chester County Sheriff's Office maintains its agency reports, bookings, and jail information. Circuit Court Clerk Justin Emerson administers both General Sessions and Circuit criminal files. At the state level, TBI runs Tennessee Open Records Information Services, also called TORIS or TN-FlexCheck. TDOC's FOIL locator and the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry answer narrower custody, supervision, and registration questions. We assembled those separate routes into one Chester County reference while keeping each system's limits clear.

An official copy must come from the office that created or maintains it. We identify the route; the sheriff, clerk, TBI, or other government custodian supplies the record.
